If a rock is attached to a massless, rigid rod and swung in avertical circle at constant speed, it will not have a constanttotal energy. The kinetic energy will be constant, but thepotential energy will be continually changing. Is any workbeing done on the rock? Does the rod exert a tangential forceon the rock?

      a) As given the body is moving with constant speedin vertical circle no work is done on the rock.
      b) As given the the body has uniform circular motion thierexists only the radial component force.So no tangential force onthe rock.
