Hey guys! can you help me figure out what I did wrong in thisproblem?
if f is a linear function for which f(2) =10 and f( -6) = -2, then f( 10) equals:
the answer is 22, but I got 2 instead
first I found the slope of the linear function which was2/3
then I use (y-2) = 2/3 ( x - 10)
after using that equation I got 2
but why is it 22?

    let f(x ) = ax +b
    given f(2) = 10     so we have 10 = 2a +b.............(1)
    also given f(-6) = -2   so we have -2 =-6a +b ........(2)
    subtracting (2) from eq (1) weget    12 = 8a which gives a = 12/8 =3/2
    from (1) we have   b = 10 - 2a = 10 -3 =7
    therefore f(x) =
    now putting x = 10 we get
    f(10) =
